At the African Women and Youth Cancer and Non-Communicable Diseases Initiative (AWYCNCDI), we believe every person deserves access to health information, compassionate support and the opportunity to live with dignity.
Our work focuses on empowering women and youth, supporting people affected by cancer and other non-communicable diseases (NCDs), and promoting the inclusion and wellbeing of people with disabilities.
Through community health education, advocacy, psychosocial support, capacity building and collaboration, we aim to help build healthier and more resilient communities across Uganda.
AWYCNCDI is committed to promoting compassionate, inclusive and community-centered approaches to health and wellbeing.
We aim to work respectfully with the people we serve, protect their dignity, encourage participation and collaborate with qualified professionals and trusted organizations.
We also recognize that lasting impact requires consistent effort, responsible use of resources, reliable partnerships and a willingness to learn and improve.
Our vision is not simply to raise awareness, but to contribute to communities where people are better informed, supported and empowered to take action for their health.
We recognize that cancer, diabetes, hypertension, stroke and other chronic conditions can affect not only individuals but also their families, livelihoods and communities.
We work toward a future in which people have better access to reliable health information, understand the importance of prevention and early detection, and receive appropriate support when facing illness or disability.
We promote community education on cancer, non-communicable diseases, common health risks and healthier lifestyles. Our aim is to help women, youth and families make informed decisions about their health.
We seek to support community-based screening and early-detection initiatives through collaboration with qualified health professionals and health facilities, helping people understand the importance of timely medical assessment.
A serious illness can bring emotional, social and financial challenges. We promote counseling, encouragement and supportive environments for patients, survivors, caregivers and families affected by cancer, NCDs and disabilities.
We aim to equip women and young people with knowledge, skills and opportunities to participate in disease prevention, health advocacy and community wellbeing.
We promote dignity, inclusion and participation for people with disabilities, recognizing their right to access appropriate information, support and community services.
We encourage collaboration among communities, health professionals, hospitals, NGOs, schools, businesses and development partners to strengthen health education and support services.
We believe meaningful community impact begins with practical action and grows through sustained collaboration.
