AWYCNCDI is a Ugandan non-governmental organization established in 2019 to respond to the growing need for health, psychosocial and community support for women and youth affected by cancer, non-communicable diseases and disabilities.
Our work focuses on strengthening awareness, prevention, early identification, patient support and community action around cancer and NCDs.
We believe that individuals and communities need access not only to medical services, but also to information, counseling, psychosocial support, advocacy and opportunities to participate in decisions affecting their health.
We therefore work with health workers, health facilities, hospitals, medical centres, schools and institutions, pharmacies, NGOs, businesses, associations and like-minded individuals to advance our objectives.
To provide quality health and psychosocial community support to women and youth in Uganda, including patients living with cancer, NCDs and disabilities, through advocacy, capacity building, research, counseling, networking and resource mobilization.

Cancer and non-communicable diseases continue to create significant challenges for individuals, families and communities.
Many people face barriers including limited health information, inadequate patient support, limited access to screening and early detection services, and insufficient psychosocial support.
Women, youth and people living with disabilities can face additional challenges in accessing information, services and support.
AWYCNCDI seeks to help address these gaps by taking health education, advocacy and community support closer to the people.
We believe that early awareness, prevention, access to information, appropriate screening, timely referral and psychosocial support can make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
To inspire and empower women and youth in the prevention and care of cancer, non-communicable diseases, common illnesses and disabilities.
We seek to empower communities with knowledge and practical support so that people can take informed action regarding their health and wellbeing.
We believe that sustainable health improvement starts within communities.
Our multidisciplinary approach combines advocacy, outreach, health education, screening, counseling, training, research, networking and resource mobilization.
We work to connect communities with relevant health professionals, facilities and organizations while encouraging individuals and families to become active participants in improving their own health.
